Napoli's decision to snatch Edinson Cavani away from Palermo on a permanent deal proved to profitable both on and off the bench, with the goals flying in to see his transfer fee soar.

After close to 12 months of persistent speculation about his future Cavani eventually left for PSG but Napoli chief Aurelio de Laurentiis drove a hard bargain, securing a £40m profit that paid for Gonzalo Higuain plus change left to go after other targets.
