It's easy to forget that Kaka had the world at it's feet during a sensational first spell at AC Milan, with the Serie A giants forced to deal with the constant threat of losing their star man at a time when he was arguably the most consistent player in European football.

Kaka famously turned down a world-record move to Manchester City but was eventually lured away by Real Madrid in 2009, albeit for a healthy profit exceeding the £50m mark.
