Arsenal Football Club has a reputation for paying its players astronomical wages, so it came as a surprise to see that not a single one of Arsene Wenger's charges featured in the latest Premier Leagur rich-list.

A recent study by - which revealed the 10 wealthiest footballers currently playing in England's top-flight - was dominated by stars from Manchester United and Chelsea, with Manchester City and Liverpool featuring also.

Even more interesting, was the fact that the shortlist was heavily weighted in favour of English born individuals, despite the ever-increasing contingent of foreign players plying their trades in the Premier League.
