Manchester United could miss out on signing Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao as the two clubs are failing to agree a fee for the 25-year-old.
The Daily Star claim Manchester United are keen on signing Coentrao on loan until the end of the season before buying the Portuguese international in the summer.
Coentrao, who came close to joining Manchester United in the summer, is said to be keen on moving to Old Trafford as he is currently behind Marcelo in Real Madrid's pecking order.
Real Madrid are willing to let Coentrao depart the Santiago Bernabeu if they can recoup the majority of the £25million they spent on the defender back in 2011.
Coentrao has played just four games for Carlo Ancelotti's side so far this season as he is currently struggling with a thigh injury.
However despite Coentrao being surplus to requirements at Real Madrid, Manchester United will have to stump up the Spanish giants' asking price or risk missing out on their number one left-back target.
