Juventus insist Manchester United transfer target Claudio Marchisio remains a crucial part of their future, according to reports in France.

French newspaper Le 10 Sport carries quotes from Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta, who says there is no problem with Marchisio despite his lack of first-team action.

The United target has been a substitute for Juventus's two recent fixtures against Roma and Cagliari and with Arturo Vidal, Andrea Pirlo and Paul Pogba in central midfield, he faces stiff competition to win a regular spot.

That prompted speculation United could move for the Italy international, with the Old Trafford squad's troubles in midfield well documented.

The rumours intensified when David Moyes was spotted at the Cagliari-Juventus match at the weekend, a game Marchisio played and scored in as Juve won 4-1.

He's believed to be valued at £20m by the Italian league leaders, but according to Marotta, he's happy in Turin.

"There is no problem with Marchisio," Marotta told Radio Rai. "Claudio is a player who grew up in the youth teams of Juventus and loves this shirt.

"During a big season, it's inevitable that players have ups and downs, but everything is normal."
