Manchester United and Manchester City target Dede insists he has not received an approach for his services.

The Brazilian defender, who has also been linked with Real Madrid, won the Brazilian title with Cruzeiro last season, having joined from domestic rivals Vasco da Gama in April 2013.

He doesn’t believe an offer has been made for his services however, telling reporters he’ll try and find out if his club has been approached.

"Imagine going to Real Madrid now? I don't know, I think I haven't received anything,” he told O Tempo.

"I'll ask director of football Alexandre Mattos. I have not received anything lately, but I'll try to find out."

Agent Giuliano Aranda went on to confirm that no offer has been lodged for the nine-cap Brazilian international, despite the interest of both the Red Devils and Citizens.

"Clubs always sound out and make contact with any top-class player, this is normal. But there is no offer or negotiations taking place," he told UOL.

The comments come just a week after agent Claudio Vagheggi claimed the 25-year-old would be available for between €12 and €15million.

That hasn’t encouraged interested parties to make a first move however, with Manchester United yet to add anyone this month.

David Moyes was spotted on a personal scouting trip in Italy at the weekend, with Cagliari defender Davide Astori reportedly on the Red Devils radar.

Whilst midfield might be a greater priority for the Manchester United manager, any signing of note would be welcomed at Old Trafford after a disappointing start to life at the club for Sir Alex Ferguson's successor.

Things have gone much smoother for Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini, with the Chilean guiding his side to a title challenge at the top of the Premier League table.

Defence had been an area of concern in the early part of the season, but the Citizens have tightened things up in recent months with Vincent Kompany back in full fitness.

That said, Manchester City have a number of Brazilians in their ranks at the Etihad Stadium, as well as the funds to accommodate another international, and it remains to be seen if they decide to make a move for Dede this month.
