Top 10: Teams awarded the most Premier League penalties (1)

Football News

Premier League referees have awarded a total of 41 penalties so far this campaign, with Tottenham Hotspur - and more specifically Roberto Soldado - the main beneficiary of the officials' generosity in 2013/14.

The north London club have converted all four of their spot-kicks in England's top-flight this season, but where do they rank on the all-time list of penalties given in Premier League history?

It's a common perception that the so-called 'big clubs' get preferential treatment by refs in games against the 'smaller' sides, and a study by talkSPORT has added further weight to that argument, with all of the Premier League's current top eight teams featuring on the top 10 shortlist.

Aston Villa are the lowest placed side - currently 11th - still playing in the top-flight, with Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers, who themselves won the Premier League title in 1994/95, making up the full compliment of teams.
