New Jersey Devils forward Jaromir Jagr passed Mark Messier for 7th place all-time in NHL goals scored last night by recording his 695th goal in a game against the Montreal Canadiens.

The 41-year old tied the game at 1-1 in the first period, but more importantly it pushed him one place up on that all time scoring list. It was the first time Jagr had netted in 11 games and it was his 14th of the season.

The Czech Republic native and no doubt a future Hall of Fame member currently holds the record for most career game winning goals, most points in a single season by a right winger, has won two Stanley Cups, is a five time Art Ross Trophy winner for highest scorer in a season and won Olympic gold in 1998.

Jagr currently sits below Wayne Gretzky, Gordie Howe, Brett Hull, Marcel Dionne, Phil Esposito and Mike Gartner in the list but who knows how far he would be up if not for the seasons he spent playing back in Europe.
