Los Angeles Dodgers star Clayton Kershaw looks set to sign a new contract with the team, reports cbssports

The potential contract, which has been reported by Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, looks set to be a record deal for the pitcher.

Kershaw is currently in his last year of arbitration and could hit the free agency market after this coming season.

However, the Dodgers seem desperate to secure his services for the long term and could be willing to pay him well over the $180 million mark.

It has even been reported that the Dodgers have discussed deals worth $250m over 10 years and $300m over a 12-year period.

Kershaw has been a key member of the Dodgers' team over the past couple of years and is now recognised as one of the best pitchers in basebal at just 25-years-old.

Do you think the Dodgers will tie up a deal for Kershaw and is he worth the expense? Comment below!
