Chelsea are in advanced talks with long-term target Kurt Zouma, according to French newspaper Le 10 Sport.

The newspaper, citing L’Equipe, claims that the 19-year-old starlet has confirmed that he has been in contact with the Blues, and openly stated that he would like to move to the club in the future.

Zouma has been on the radar of the west London club for a number of months now and, despite being linked with Manchester United and Monaco, Stamford Bridge is being tipped as his next destination should he depart St. Etienne.

“Well, it's true: there has been an advanced contact, there is a month. At first I thought it was a joke. After I quickly took his call seriously,” Zouma said.

“A great man as Jose Mourinho phone to a small player like Kurt Zouma , it's nice. It does not happen to you every day and it is a great sign of respect and trust. If you told me to go to Chelsea , I will! Especially after calling the coach. It gave me ideas."

Should Zouma move to west London he will be the second player to have joined this window, with the Blues having finalised a deal to bring in Benfica star Nemanja Matic yesterday for £21million.

Zouma himself is valued at around £10million, and it’s likely Jose Mourinho will have to pay over the odds to convince St. Etienne to sell.
