New England Patriots star Aaron Dobson is hoping to make a comeback for the AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos, despite the fact he is listed as questionable for the clash at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, reports ESPN.
The 22-year-old wide receiver missed the Patriots' divisional round win over the Indianapolis Colts with a foot injury, but is remaining optimistic about a return to Bill Belichick's roster this weekend.
It's the second foot injury that Dobson has suffered this season, this time ruling him out of Patriots practice for two weeks. But, he's been staying mentally sharp in preparation for a return to action by taking "mental reps" in the build-up to the Broncos match.
"I don't really know what my situation is going to be this weekend," Dobson said Friday before the team's morning practice. "But I'll go out there today, see how it feels, and go from there.
"It was hard just to watch my team battle without me [against the Colts]. They pulled it out, so I'm glad to get another opportunity to hopefully get back out on the field this Sunday."
Dobson had 37 catches for 519 yards and four touchdowns for the Patriots this season, and will give the Foxborough-based franchise a huge lift if he is deemed fit enough for play against the Broncos on Sunday.
