Man United players must deliver a message at Chelsea

With the news that Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie are out of United’s squad this Sunday, the odds are more heavily stacked against David Moyes’s team than ever before.

A lot has been documented about United this season and their reliance on their two main front men and, the apparent new prodigal son of Old Trafford, Adnan Januzaj.

Therefore it's looking unlikely that United will get the win at Stamford Bridge with a lot of players under-performing and not being up to the calibre that’s come to be synonymous with the reigning Premier League champions in recent years.

It seems Moyes is now beginning to take action.

First up is Anderson, currently having a medial at 4th placed Serie A side Fiorentina – Moyes has given everyone a rub of the green this season and now looks like he has worked out who is surplus to requirements for his team.

With this in mind, the remaining members of the squad need to show their mettle; a battling performance is the minimum that United’s fans will expect, especially after being turned over by Tottenham, Everton, Liverpool and Man City, who all reside above them in the table.

Questions remain over the futures of Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and Rio Ferdinand, but each and every United fan, regardless of the speculation surrounding potential exits, much accept that unless a Ferguson-esque showing of true grit, heart and determination is delivered, Sunday could quite easily get embarrassing for the Red Devils.
