Football News

It can’t be easy to deal with the pressures of modern day football.

As fans, critics and onlookers we can slate, criticise and otherwise play down the talents of the stars plying their trade at Europe’s biggest teams, and the public perspective can change on a dime.

Of course that’s not to say that certain players don’t deserve a good old dressing down, particularly if they’re frustrating by way of not showcasing their obvious talents.

But what is viewed by the majority fans as perhaps the most aggravating annoyance in the modern game is one that happens far more often than any of us would like.

Of course I’m referring to a player not living up to their potential.

Whether it’s a wide-eyed starlet finding it difficult to acclimatise to the rigours of being a professional footballer, a big-money mover who isn’t living up to his price-tag or simply a player lauded as being exceptionally gifted experiencing a long-slump in form… there are many scenarios in which one can be said to be not realising the potential within.

Here we give you the top 10 biggest offenders in this respect… Click on to see who makes the cut.
