Napoli boss Rafa Benitez wants to bring Barcelona midfielder Alex Song to Italy, reports talkSPORT

The ex-Arsenal ace has struggled for opportunities at the Nou Camp this season and has been linked with a £10 million move away from the La Liga giants.

It had previously been reported that Arsenal were ready to bring the 26-year-old back to the Emirates and were battling with Premier League rivals Manchester United for the player's signature.

However, it now appears that Napoli are the front-runners for the midfielder and could sign the Cameroon international in this transfer window.

It remains to be seen as to whether either Arsenal or Manchester United will step up their interest in the player. The Gunners and United are yet to spend in January, but could still add to their squads before the end of the month.

Arsenal will be looking for a strong end to the season as they go in search of ending their eight-year trophy drought.

Arsene Wenger's side currently sit top of the Premier League table, meanwhile their rivals, Manchester United, have had a nightmare season and are 14 points adrift of the north London outfit.
