UFC legends Dan Henderson and Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua will square off in a rematch of their epic bout from 2011 in the main event set for Natal, Brazil on March 23rd, according to Brazilian news outlet Tatame.
Rua and Henderson contested an epic five-round battle more than two years ago in a fight widely regarded as the best in combat sports from 2011, a bout Shogun lost in contentious circumstances by unanimous decision.
Henderson edged that bout but has since lost three consecutive bouts in a spell which briefly led him to free agency, before agreeing a new deal with the leading mixed-martial-arts promotion in a bid to keep competing in the light-heavyweight division's upper echelon aged 43.
Shogun recently snapped a losing streak of his own by knocking out James Te Huna in his first win since August 2012, enough to convince the UFC that it's time for one of the sport's enduring rivalries to resume in the Octagon later this year.
The UFC are yet to formally confirm either the legend's rematch or March's Natal card, although MMA Fighting understands that C.B. Dolloway and Scott Jorgensen will also feature in the organisation's latest Brazilian adventure on the penultimate weekend in March.
