Kansas Jayhawk guard Wayne Selden last night proved that hard work really does pay off.

During the second half of the Jayhawks game against Baylor, Selden chased a loose ball that was heading out of bounds and decided to dive face first to try and keep the play alive.

Selden somehow managed to hook the ball back in play and straight into the hands of teammate Joel Embiid, who sunk the two pointer from short range, getting the guard one of his two assists on the night.

Okay, part of his foot was out of bounds but the referee's didn't see it, so we have to give props to Selden and the gentleman in the front row who took a boot to the face. He was a Kansas fan so i'm sure he's just happy to have been a part of the play and there's no doubt he was on Sports Center that night.

Selden's complete commitment to the cause, flying with little regard for his own safety, is sure to make the freshman a fans favourite for some time to come.
