Liverpool will let defender Sebastian Coates depart the club on loan, reports talkSPORT.
The Reds star has been out of action since tearing an anterior cruciate ligament while playing for Uruguay in August and now looks set to head back to his former club Nacional.
Coates is desperate to regain his fitness in time for this summer's World Cup and will be targeting first team football before the major competition.
With Coates behind the likes of Kolo Toure, Mamadou Sakho and Daniel Agger in the pecking order at the Merseyside club, he could benefit by continuing his rehabilitation at his former club.
The defender is keen on a move back to Nacional too as he hopes to complete his recovery in his home country.
Speaking to Radio El Espectador 810, the Liverpool ace said: "It would be beautiful to join Nacional and complete my recovery in Uruguay with my family and friends.
"The negotiations can be hard sometimes, and we have to wait a bit."
It remains to be seen as to whether Nacional finalise a deal wit Liverpool for the player's services, however a move appears to be edging closer.
