Miami Heat flopping disease spreading

Mario Chalmers has received a warning from the NBA in relation to his 'flop' against the Atlanta Hawks, Jan 20.

The Miami Heat player went flying with just 20 seconds left on the clock in the fourth quarter with his team trailing 115-119.

And with no foul called at the time, it seems the league agrees that it was convenient timing for the Heat player to be pushed by his opponent.

The warning comes at an unfortunate time for Chalmers after he recently accused DeMarcus Cousins of flopping against him during a Heat - Kings game Dec. 26.

According to Joseph Goodman of the Miami Herald, Chalmers described the flagrant foul call in that game as follows:

"I went for a box out and he flopped.

"He went flying. That's exactly what happened. He flopped."

So maybe the Heat player's fall last night was just his way of showing Cousins how it should be done - unfortunately for him, his technique was not quite right when it mattered.

Chalmers warning under the NBA's 'anti-flopping' regulations, which were introduced in the 2012-13 season, is unlikely to help improve the image of the Heat as a team who make the most of contact.

Maybe Bosh, Wade, or LeBron could give him a few tips?
