Premier League: Top 13 prolific single-season goalscorers (1)

One of the most fascinating subplots of this most unpredictable Premier League season has been the simply fantastic form of strikers such as Liverpool's Luis Suarez and fellow South American Sergio Aguero.

While the latter has only returned recently from a lengthy period of absence that threatened to curtail a truly stunning season, the Reds' controversial talisman has been lighting it up an Anfield with a phenomenal goalscoring run.

Although he failed to add to his tally during Liverpool's somewhat disappointing draw with struggling Aston Villa at Anfield on Saturday evening, he already has 22 top-flight strikes to his name during 2013/14 - with just under half of the season still to play.

Suarez's exploits got us thinking (never a good thing, I know) here at GMS - just how many goals will Suarez score this season? And, also, which players have scored the most goals during the course of a single Premier League campaign?

According to a wonderful graphic from the fine folks over at Sporting Intelligence, there are 13 players who have notched 25 goals or more in a single season in the modern top-flight era.

Using said graphic as our base, we reveal each one of those players and also provide a bit of info about their particular feats.

Click on to see just who has scored 25+ goals in a single Premier League season.

Don't forget to leave your thoughts in the comment box provided below. Which names are you surprised to see included?

Is there anyone here who you are surprised to see make it? And just how many goals do you think Suarez will score this season?
