Manchester United are prepared to give Juan Mata his debut for the club immediately after signing him from Chelsea, according to the Metro.

The Spaniard is all set to complete his £37million switch to Old Trafford today and has reportedly flown to Manchester via helicopter in order to undergo a medical.

And if the Metro are to be believed then David Moyes will waste little time in integrating the 25-year-old in his first-team squad, with the United boss keen to use him in their next fixture against Cardiff in the Premier League.

Following the loss on penalties to Sunderland last night, where United crashed out of the Capital One Cup, the morale at Old Trafford is likely to have hit an all-time low. Things are not helped either by the fact that key players Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie remain sidelined through injury, with Javier Hernandez and Michael Carrick believed to have picked up knocks last night.

As such Moyes wants Mata’s paperwork to be finalised as quickly as possible so that he can train with the squad and be registered in time for the clash against Cardiff.
