Manchester United's Capital One Cup exit last night marked the lowest point of what has been a very low season by all accounts.

And as the chances of them making the Champions League this season slowly diminish one has to wonder what the financial implications could be. Whilst we're on the subject, how much do they stand to lose if they can't repeat the endeavours of last year? In fact, how much did they make last year?

Lucky for us there's a table to offer an answer to such conundrums - and it's fresh off the conveyer belt of footballing statistics.

With money playing an ever-important role in the modern game, which club can claim to be the richest around from last season?

Only published today, here is the annual Football Money League by Deloitte, showing the top 20 teams in Europe and their commercial revenue earnings from the 2012/13 campaign.
