Michigan State's basketball player Branden Dawson will be out for 4-5 weeks after breaking his hand.
A broken hand is a fairly frequent injury, in one form or another, in the sport. But Dawson's injury did not occur mid-game.
He was not even on the practice court.
He was sitting with his teammates watching a re-run of a Michigan State game in the safety of a college classroom.
But it seems Dawson was not impressed with what he was watching, reportedly slamming his fist on the table in frustration and breaking his hand in the process.
The junior is having a decent season for the Spartans, having averaged 10.2 points and 8.7 rebounds so far to help them reach no.3 in the nation with a 18-1 record.
And this injury will come as a blow for the team who are preparing to play rivals #21 ranked Michigan without starting center Adreian Payne.
Imagine what Dawson would have done if he had been playing for a team with a losing record!
Dawson was set to have surgery this week.
