Florida State quarterback, Jameis Winston has been installed as the early betting favorite for the Heisman Trophy in 2014.

Winston won the trophy last year, only the second freshman to do so, on his way to a 14-0 record and a National Championship.

You can get odds of 2/1 on Winston to repeat as champion, whilst fellow QB's Marcus Mariota and Braxton Miller are 7/2 and 4/1 respectively.

T.J Yeldon, the running back from Alabama is 5/1. Winston was the second freshman to win the prestigious award, given the most outstanding player in college football.

Johnny Manziel was the first freshman to win the award, in 2012. He was also shortlisted last year.

Of course it is far too early to even suggest who might win the award as dark-horses like Manziel, Winston and Tre Mason always appear once the season gets underway. However it is likely that if Winston continues his strong form for FSU that he would be considered the favorite once the real action begins later this year.
