New York Knicks small forward Carmelo Anthony is keen on joining the Chicago Bulls, according to sources close to the 29-year-old.
Anthony can leave the New York Knicks in free agency during the summer if he opts out of the last year of his contract.
Both the Chicago Red Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers are just two of the franchises in the race to sign Anthony.
However the Bulls are reportedly favourites to entice Anthony away from Madison Square Garden as the NBA superstar favours a move to the United Center.
“Chicago is much more in play for him than L.A.,” said a source close to Anthony.
The New York Knicks superstar has grown frustrated with life at the Garden due to his side's abysmal start to the season.
Mike Woodson's side are currently two places off the playoffs.
Anthony may decide to see how the Knicks do in the final few months of the season before making a decision on his long-term future at the end of the season.
The Knicks take on the Boston Celtics on Tuesday - fresh from consecutive victories against the Charlotte Bobcats and the Los Angeles Lakers.
