No it's not the start of a joke - it does sound like a great one though - but last night saw a rather unusual pairing at Madison Square Garden.

As the New York Times reported last week, the Knicks have a rather different way of assorting celebrities into court-side seats. At MSG, there is a row of six seats that is reserved for the very best of the best, A tier celebs whom everyone knows, and their guests of course.

So the special team of people that works out who classes as most famous - yes such a thing exists - sat acclaimed rapper and now businessman 50 Cent next to 64-year old Academy Award winning actress Meryl Streep.

An odder combination has never been seen in a sporting arena but it seemed like the two polar opposites got on like a house on fire.

And judging by 'Fiddy's' Instagram account, they even continued their newly found friendship after the game where the two hung out with LA Lakers star Kobe Bryant.

I promise you there is no punch line and i'm deadly serious. I'll leave the final words to the rapper; who so succinctly put it "Things got a little gangsta."
