Willie Mason is back to his baddest best

If Willie Mason was a cat, it would make sense, because how many lives does one rugby league player need to use up?

The 33-year-old prop had a renaissance season last year as he miraculously returned to the NRL, and was an integral part of the Newcastle Knights run to the semi-finals of the NRL last season.

But he will start 2014 under a different microscope after getting charged for drink driving. It seems Mason has now done it all

He once was quoted by a reporter as saying he 'hated' Souths. He reduced a reporter to tears after mocking her in front of team-mates.

During a New Zealand haka, he also swore at Brent Webb.

All of this immature behaviour was supposed to be behind the former Australian international. But now Mason has been caught for DUI.

Mason hopes to recover from more damage to his image, and he showed remorse on Twitter today.

‘‘Jus want 2 say sorry to everyone. I take full responsibility it was bad judgment. I thought I was fine 2 drive. Obviously not. sorry again,’’ he wrote.
