AC Milan want to bring Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao to Italy, reports ABola

The Portuguese star has been heavily tracked by Premier League champions Manchester United in this transfer window, however it appears that the Red Devils will have to battle with the Italian giants for the player's signature.

It has been reported that Adriano Galliani, the managing director of Milan, phoned Real boss Carlo Ancelotti about the availability of the left-back.

However it appears that any move for Coentrao, who has been rated at £20 million by his club, may now have to wait until the summer as the Bernabeu outfit seem reluctant to sell.

It remains to be seen as to whether Manchester United step up their interest for the star before the end for this transfer window.

Manchester United boss David Moyes appears desperate to sign a new long term left-back with Patrice Evra now in the twilight years of his career.

Manchester United have already seen former target Leighton Baines commit his future with Everton after signing a new four year deal with the Toffees earlier today.
