Carmelo Anthony could become a free agent this summer, but it seems the person closest to him believes Melo is set to stay at the Knicks.

The New York player's wife, La La, told Bravo TV she sees her husband's future in NYC:

"I definitely think he will stay.

"I know that he wants to stay and I supper him wherever he wants to go", she told the station.

Whilst Anthony is under contract through the 2014-15 season he has the option to opt out after this year and is expected to test free agency when the season finishes.

But it seems that La La has the inside scoop on his future. Although she was keen to stress she wasn't the driving force behind a proposed New York stay:

"Listen, I used to live in Denver with him.

"If I can live in Denver, I can live anywhere. I just want him to be happy."

And New York Knicks fans also want Melo to be happy, just as long as it is at Madison Square Gardens.

Anthony has been a bright light in a disappointing season for the Knicks so far, producing stand out displays such as his 62-point haul in his team's game against the Charlotte Bobcats on Jan 25.
