Zenit St Petersburg want to bring Cagliari star Davide Astori to Russia, reports talkSPORT

The central defender has been in fine form in the Serie A this season and has attracted the interest of Premier League duo Manchester United and Southampton.

Manchester United boss David Moyes was recently snapped watching the 27-year-old as he watched Cagliari's clash with Juventus.

If the Red Devils are to secure the signing of the Italian international, then they may have to go head-to-head with Zenit.

However, Southampton still remain keen on the 27-year-old, but it remains to be seen as to whether the Saints will step up their pursuit of the star in this transfer market.

Both Southampton and Manchester United are in Premier League action tonight. The Saints host league leaders Arsenal, meanwhile ManchesterUnited take on Cardiff City at Old Trafford. The two teams will be desperate to secure three points this evening as they look to climb the Premier League table.
