It's an interesting combination, Skittles to get you energized and psyched up for the game, with weed providing the calming down influence for relaxing after the game.

The Seattle Seahawks running-back Marshawn Lynch definitely enjoys Skittles, and he has claimed before that they help him become 'Beast Mode.'

It now seems that his love affair with the candy has naturally progressed to the next level, with his new Skittles endorsement deal set to be announced today at the Super Bowl XLVIII Media Day.

It's understood that Lynch will receive financial compensation from the company, as Skittles look to bring out a special Seattle version of their candy.

Meanwhile, Lynch - aka 'Beast Mode' - has been commemorated by a local pot dealer in Seattle for his strong play.

Nate “Diggity” Johnson of the Queen Anne Cannabis Club in Seattle has named a strain of weed after the powerful running-back.

Speaking to the Seattle Times he said, "It’s extremely strong. Marshawn has gears when he’s running and it’s kind of like that. It has a little bit of a slow start and then kicks in.”
