Manchester United and Arsenal transfer target Hernanes is not for sale – unless an ‘indecent offer’ is made to Lazio.
That’s the verdict of club president Claudio Lotito, who insists the Serie ‘A’ club are yet to receive an offer for the player.
The Red Devils and Gunners are amongst the interested parties, according to Sky Sports, but they’ve not looked to tempt the Italian giants with a bid at this stage.
"Hernanes is not for sale. I have always said that if we received an indecent offer then we would evaluate it,” he told Rai Sport.
"So far, we have not received any offers."
The comments come just a week after Lotito told TMW that £15million would not be enough to lure the player away from the Stadio Olimpico.
That hasn’t stopped clubs showing an interest, with The Daily Star reporting last week that Manchester United were scouting the 28-year-old playmaker.
Their report claimed Red Devils boss David Moyes had set his sights on seven midfield players across Europe – including Spanish international Juan Mata.
And, having brought the player to Old Trafford, it remains to be seen if Manchester United will continue to pursue Hernanes.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have been linked with the player for several months, with reports back in November claiming Arsene Wenger was eager to bring the player to north London.
The Gunners aren't short of players pulling the strings in attacking midfield, with Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil two of the best in the business at the Emirates Stadium.
But, with Arsenal looking to challenge for the Premier League title, depth could be crucial to their chances and Hernanes would certainly give the club another option going forward.
