Arsenal will make a move for former Chelsea ace Salomon Kalou if they fail in their attempts to bring Julian Draxler to the club, reports the Daily Star

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger appears desperate to bring Draxler to the north London outfit and has reportedly made a £24.7m bid for the player's services

However, if Wenger fails to land the German international, then he looks likely to make a move for Kalou.

The Lille winger, who has also been linked to the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool, has a £2.5m buyout clause at the Ligue 1 outfit.

Kalou's last appearance for Chelsea came in their Champions League final victory against Bayern Munich, and the Ivory Coast ace could now be on his way back to the Emirates.

However it remains to be seen as to whether Arsenal can complete a deal for Draxler or if they will make a move for Kalou before the end of the window.

Arsenal fans will be hoping for a new signing at the Emirates as the Gunners go in search of the Premier League title in this campaign.
