Arsenal striker Benik Afobe has been recruited by Championship side Sheffield Wednesday in a bid to reinforce their goalscoring options as they attempt to avoid relegation to the third-tier.
The 20-year-old moves to Hillsborough on loan for the remainder of the campaign having previously spent temporary spells away from Arsenal with Huddersfield Town, Reading, Bolton and Millwall.
Afobe's most recent loan spell came at the Den last season, where he failed to find the net in five appearances, and the England under-21 international has not made a competitive appearance this term.
The young forward spent 10 years in the Arsenal academy before signing professional terms in February 2010, but he has yet to make a first-team appearance in any competition for the Premier League leaders.
Arsenal have something of a threadbare goalscoring department at present, but Afobe has still been unable to force his way into the club's senior set-up. Upon his arrival in Sheffield, Afobe will vie for a position alongside he likes of Connor Wickham and Chris Maguire.
