It's fair to say Zlatan Ibrahimović is a renegade in the footballing world, famous for talking about himself in the third person and making outlandish statements.
Take this quote for example - when asked about what he was getting his wife for her birthday, he simply responded: "Nothing, she already has Zlatan".
These Zlatanism's (as they have been dubbed by the internet community) are wide-ranging in topic, and contribute largely to the enigma that the giant Swede has become. It's safe to say that for any company, utilising a man such as Zlatan, with his stature and standing in the game, will catch the eye of whoever happens to be watching. This is what Volvo has done with their latest campaign.
Broadcast between quarters at the Superbowl XLVIII, their advert shows Zlatan in his native Sweden, as he ditches his superstar footballer image for a more natural look.
Despite this makeover of sorts, he still manages to fit a few Zlatanism's in for good measure, such as claiming that his wife "has begun to smell strange to me, like old potatoes and hairspray", as well as giving himself a new moniker, "Zlatanfish".
It would be hard to believe that this riveting advertisement contains one of Europe's star strikers, currently picking up almost £50,000 a day at Paris Saint-Germain.
