Kansas City Chiefs are on the verge of announcing virtual unknown wide-receiver Weston Dressler, who became a free-agent after he decided to take a chance at becoming an NFL player.

Dressler won the Grey Cup in 2013 with the Canadian Football League's Saskatchewan Roughriders, and according to Sportsnet’s Arash Madani (via Twitter), he will become a Chief.

The move is yet to be confirmed, but it is understood that a deal is in place for the two-time CFL All-Star.

The 28-year-old became a free agent with the aim of exploring any prospective NFL options, and it seems the Chiefs have taking his fancy.

In the last four seasons he has surpassed 1,000 yards, whilst averaging 81 catches per season over that span.

Even though nothing has be made official yet, the deal could well signify the end of Dexter McCluster's time at the Chiefs, with both players sharing similar skills sets and capabilities.
