Manchester United boss David Moyes is no longer interested in signing Manchester City target Eliaquim Mangala.

The Daily Mail claim Manchester United have pulled out of the race to sign Mangala - leaving rivals Manchester City to compete with Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco for the highly-rated defender's signature.

Mangala, who is valued at £35million, has been attracting interest from sides across Europe due to the fine form he has shown at Portuguese outfit Porto.

Moyes has told Manchester United's top scouts to keep an eye on Mangala's form over the course of the season, however it is thought the former Everton boss is now focusing on other potential targets.

The Manchester United boss will be in the market for a new centre-back during the summer as both Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand are out of contract at the end of the season.

Porto midfielder Fernando could join Mangala at the Etihad Stadium as Moyes has also passed up the chance of enticing the Brazilian to Old Trafford.
