Brooklyn Nets coach, Jason Kidd has been given the Eastern Conference coach of the month award for January after only losing three games since the turn of the year.

Kidd's three losses in January came against the Oklahoma City Thunder alongside two defeats by the Toronto Raptors.

Dave Joerger of the Memphis Grizzlies won the Western Conference award.

The Nets had a terrible start to the season, losing 19 games in November and December but they have turned their fortunes around since and are currently in seventh position in the conference.

According to the Nets organization, Kidd is the second person to win both player of the month and coach of the month awards with the same team. Kidd also played for the Nets when they were in New Jersey.

The Grizzlies were 12-3 in the month of January, Joerger has led the team into eighth place in the highly competitive Western Conference.
