New York Yankees pitcher Tanaka cleared to play in US

New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka will be joining the team early after his visa was received on Tuesday.

The pitcher who recently signed a seven year $155 million contract last month with the Yankees but has yet to be formally introduced.

The big money right hander is currently training in Japan but will be coming on Sunday to prepare for Spring Training later in the month.

The signing is a a quick decision from the Yankees who were being freed of any financial ties after Alex Rodriguez was suspended for the 2014 season. His suspension is rumoured to be heading to the Supreme Court for an appeal hearing.
