Top ranked Syracuse will not go unbeaten all season

According to ESPN's basketball power index, the Syracuse Orange face an almost impossible task as they attempt to go the entire season undefeated.

Currently ranked #1 in NCAA basketball, the school hold a 22-0 record with just nine regular-season games remaining.

But the statistic, provided by ESPN on Thursday, states that Syracuse have just a 5% chance of achieving a perfect season.

Not since the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers has a men's NCAA division I team racked up nothing but W's, but both Syracuse and Witchita State are on course as the finishing line approaches.

And, in a move that is likely to annoy Syracuse fans further, Witchita St. has been given a 65% chance of winning all their remaining match ups.

This is largely down to the two team's contrasting schedules.

The Orange face touch games against three top 25 ranked teams, including #11 Duke while only four of their last nine outings take place at the Carrier Dome.

Meanwhile, Wichita St. (#4 in the nation) are currently 24-0 and will not play a ranked team in the seven games left of the regular-season.

What do you think? Can either team get the perfect season?
