Chelsea were praised for their dominant performance in the 1-0 win against Manchester City on Monday night, and the fact they could have beaten Manuel Pellegrini's side even more convincingly had it not been for the woodwork, sent out a strong message to their Premier League title rivals.

The Blues were denied by the post or the crossbar on three separate occasions at the Etihad Stadium, but were not punished for their profligacy in front of goal, securing that all important win and ending City's unbeaten home record in 2013/14.

Victory moved Jose Mourinho's men within two points of leaders Arsenal, in what is turning out to be the most tightly-contested title race in recent English top-flight history.

Click through the tabs - above or below - to check out the top 10 unluckiest teams in the Premier League this season, who have been denied by the woodwork on the most occasions in 2013/14.
