Jason Kidd has just won the coach of the month award and his Brooklyn side has gone 11-4 since the turn of the year, but NBA legend Charles Barkley still doesn’t rate the Nets.

“The Nets stink man!” Barkley said during an interview with GiveMeSport.

Barkley wasn’t as enamored with Brooklyn’s change in results as others have been and he went on to say:

“They’ve been beating up on a lot of ugly chicks in the eastern conference. Don’t act like they’ve got a good team. Just stop it!”

Damning words from the TNT Analyst, who may have a point however.

The Eastern Conference is the easier of the two in the NBA and it contains teams like Boston, Milwaukee, Orlando, Philadelphia and Cleveland, all of whom have been atrocious.

And when Brooklyn has faced better teams, even in this great run they’ve been on, they have come unstuck. The Nets went on a 0-3 streak last week when they finally faced playoff teams the Suns, Thunder and Pacers.

The former Phoenix Suns forward went on to point to key injuries suffered by the Nets in the season, exclaiming that their best player is Brook Lopez and Deron Williams will never be the same.

Barkley later turned his attention to the play offs and Kidd’s side’s chances.

“I don’t see Brooklyn beating Washington or even Toronto (in a series).” Chuck said. “Washington are the third best team in the East, John Wall is an All-Star and Bradley Beal will be one in the next two or three years.”

Not encouraging news to hear for Nets fans out there. Tell us if you think ‘Sir Charles’ is correct about your team or not.
