On-loan Arsenal defender Johan Djourou was left fuming after becoming the victim of a robbery, which saw his £83,000 luxury watch stolen from a hotel, reports the Daily Mail.

The Switzerland international - who is currently playing in Germany for Bundesliga outfit Hamburg - was dining with a teammate at the team's base when their bags were taken from the hotel lobby.

It's an unwanted distraction for Djourou, as he continues his rehabilitation from a muscle injury that has forced him to miss the past two games for Bert van Marwijk's struggling side.

"There were things like a wallet and other valuables in it that are very important to me," he told German newspaper Bild. "This is very, very annoying."

The 27-year-old has made 14 appearances for Hamburg since leaving the Emirates Stadium at the start of the season, having been deemed surplus to requirements at Arsenal by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

Djourou purchased his expensive timepiece from a jewellers in London, and thankfully has the item insured so he'll be able to get a replacement once the incident has been investigated by police.
