Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is tracking Racing Club starlet Luciano Vietto - but Real Madrid are interested too.
As reported by The Metro, the 20-year-old's agent has confirmed that Liverpool and Real Madrid are two of the club chasing Vietto.
Reports emerging from South America had suggested that the talented attacker was a target for Liverpool, with Rodgers keen to bring him to Anfield at the end of the season.
His agent, Jorge Cysterpiller said: "We know that many top clubs are following Vietto.
"There is a lot of competition to sign him. Liverpool we know like him and so do Real Madrid - I think also two German teams.
"I think he could move at the end of the European season."
Vietto has won comparisons with fellow Argentine striker Sergio Aguero. He possesses the same eye for goal and turn of pace.
And many tip the Argentina under-20 international to make a big impact at the next level once he makes the jump.
Liverpool failed to sign a single new player in the January transfer window, despite being linked with a host of names.
The Anfield club welcomes Arsenal to Merseyside this weekend in what promises to be an exciting match.
Both teams play expansive football, and with the title race closer than ever, the game could have big repercussions come the end of the campaign.
