Inter Milan are odd-on favourites to sign Nemanja Vidic before the close of the next transfer window - with the bookmakers at least.

According to SkyBet, the Serie A outfit are 8/11 favourites to sign the Serbian international before September 2, with Turkish outfit Galatasaray priced next at 6/5. Inter's great cross-city rivals, AC Milan, are next at 8/1 and wealthy Ligue 1 title hopefuls Monaco at 12/1.

Juventus are 18/1, Fenerbahce 22/1, Paris Saint-Germain and FC Porto are both 33/1 while Barcelona and Real Madrid come in at 50/1.

Manchester United captain Vidic - who reportedly earns £100,000-per-week at Old Trafford - joined his current employers from Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow in 2006 and comfortably established himself as one of the top-flight's greatest and most formidable defenders during his subsequent eight years at the club.

However, last week, the 32-year-old - who has struggled with injury this season - announced his intention to depart Manchester United when his contract expires at the end of the season - citing a desire for a new challenge.

David Moyes' side's woeful 2013/14 campaign continued with a dire draw at home to relegation-threatened Fulham on Sunday afternoon, a game in which Vidic could potentially be blamed for his role in Darren Bent's injury-time equaliser.

With a number of players - including the likes of Patrice Evra - out of contract in the summer, it seems likely that Moyes will embark on a summer overhaul of his underperforming squad and it appears Vidic has no part in the club's future.

Just where he intends to move next is unclear, but Inter - who currently sit fifth in Serie A following yesterday's 1-0 win over Sassuolo at the San Siro - are certainly leading the way with the bookies.
