Michael Sam came out to the world at the weekend. It was hardly a moment that left people completely dumbfounded at the prospect of a gay NFL player, there have been homosexuals in the NFL in the past after all. People knew that this day was coming.

But while Sam’s announcement that he’s gay was met with almost universal praise and respect, unfortunately not everyone was quite so forthcoming in their acceptance of the defensive end.

Some nameless, faceless NFL executives have anonymously stated that they think is was a bad move for Sam to say he was gay.

ESPN’s Keith Olbermann wasn't too appreciative of the fact that these cowards conveniently hid behind anonymity, and called them to task over their pre-historic comments.

On Monday night, Olbermann gave a masterclass in trolling, destroying those nameless and faceless executives who were bashing a 24 year old whom had just made  the biggest announcement of his life.

The executives will likely never be named, but it should serve as a warning that despite the acceptance of near enough every single NFL player on twitter, there is still those in the shadows that are concerned about homosexuality in the locker room, the irony that they are never in the locker room itself apparently lost on them.

Olbermann’s rant also proves that there are plenty of people rooting for Sam for every nameless, faceless executive who bashes he young man’s decision, there are people like Olbermann and the various NFL players who supported him to cancel out the hate and guide Sam through the rough times.
