Manchester United linked with Barcelona star

Manchester United were linked with Barcelona forward Pedro in the lead up to last month’s transfer window as the champions strived to recruit reinforcements, and speculation about their supposed interest in the Spain international persists following its closure.

It was claimed David Moyes had been placed on ‘red alert’ with Pedro ready to force a move away from the Camp Nou, although an upsurge in form appeared to extinguish many of the reports about his future.

However, there are still some suggestions that Manchester United could move to bring Pedro to Old Trafford in the summer, and these have been picked up an analysed by Spanish newspaper AS.

Pedro is ‘another objective’ for Moyes, reports Manuel Esteban - known as Manolete - although it would appear unlikely indeed that the player will move to Manchester United given that he is enjoying his ‘best season’ with Barcelona.

The 26-year-old has scored 12 goals and provided six assists in La Liga so far this term, starting 16 games, and it seems as though he remains part of the club’s plans. Even if Moyes did register his interest, then the €150 million release clause might end his hopes of signing the player.
