Tampa Bay Rays' Alex Cobb has made the daring decision to propose to his girlfriend with the help of a dolphin, but thankfully for the pitcher, the momentous moment went swimmingly.

Cobb pulled out the big fish for his proposal to his long-time girlfriend, Kelly Reynolds. Cobb used a dolphin at the Orlando Discovery Cove to give his longtime girlfriend a message that asked, “Kelly, will you marry me?”

The starting pitcher for Rays has upped the stakes for men everywhere with this dolphin inspired marriage proposal to partner Reynolds.

Cobb, a 4th round pick in 2006, had a record of 11-3 last season with the Rays.

His girlfriend was left in tears after the proposal, but Cobb explained.

"She was totally surprised," said Cobb, claiming he wasn't too nervous. "The whole thing was awesome."

The couple have dated four years but they haven't set a wedding date, though it's likely to be after the 2015 MLB season.

"She said yes to the dolphin," Cobb said. "I never asked her yet."
