Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has insisted that Gunners fans should take plenty of positives from their performance in last night's 0-0 draw with Manchester United, before declaring that the next seven days will give his side a much clearer idea of how realistic their trophy ambitions are this season.

The Gunners were held by United at the Emirates in a frustration evening for Arsene Wenger's side, as they missed out on the chance to leapfrog Chelsea and go top of the Premier League.

Wenger's side did keep a clean sheet though, just four days after capitulating in a 5-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

Giroud believes that Arsenal should take confidence from their efforts ahead of upcoming FA Cup and Champions League matches against Liverpool and Bayern Munich respectively, but did admit that tiredness did creep in against the Red Devils late on.

He told the club's official website: "I think we had a good reaction after the bad result against Liverpool. I think it's a good draw to be honest even if we could have scored at the end. It was maybe just about our confidence.

"We did well in the first half especially but after we looked a bit tired. It's OK, we had a good reaction on the pitch and I think that's the most important thing even if we wanted to win this game.

"I'm confident for the remaining games and we'll know a bit more about our future after Liverpool and Bayern [Munich] because we want to play in every competition."

The 27-year-old is stuck in 10 Premier League goals for the campaign as a crucial period of fixtures continues for the title contenders, failing to register in his last three domestic matches as the pressure mounts on the French international to keep firing.
