Tyler Ennis' 35-foot buzzer-beater made has rocketed the Syracuse man into the national media.

The Orange point guard saved his team's unbeaten run with a 35-foot basket with under a second left on the clock which gave top-ranked Syracuse a 58-56 victory against #25 Pittsburgh.

And he has likely spent most of last night and today basking in the glory of that moment.

With everyone from his teammates, fans, social media, and TV analysts heaping praise on the young player he must have thought things couldn't get much better.

But it has emerged that Ennis received a call today from the Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, to congratulate him on his play.

Biden graduated from Syracuse University in 1968 with a law degree and was understandably keen to speak to Ennis after his game-saving moment.

The VP's office tweeted a photograph of Biden on the phone to the Syracuse player.

Thanks to Ennis, Syracuse remain on course to post a perfect season - they currently hold a 24-0 record.
