Sony has today released new pictures for their baseball game, MLB 14: The Show, as they take it to the next level in terms of detail.

The image above is of Boston Red Sox first baseman Mike Napoli, and his facial hair is caught in all of its hairy glory on the PS4 version, while the PS3 standards are just that little bit lower.

MLB 14: The Show will be available on Playstation 3 and Vita April 1st, with PS4 gamers will having to wait until around one month after the start of the MLB season.

That delay will certainly be a bit of a letdown for die hard MLB fans, but awesome stadium detail and lighting engine updates make it worth the wait.

There are plenty of updates to get baseball fans excited including, fast-play options to make nine-innings last only 30 minutes.

You will now be able to do year to year saves, which makes saved data transferable from game to game, and online franchise play can now be multi-seasonal.
